EMS

Port Chester-Rye-Rye Brook EMS (PCRRBEMS) is a not-for-profit corporation contracted by the three municipalities to provide emergency medical service and transportation. PCRRBEMS was founded in 1968 as a Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Over the years it has grown into a career agency employing over 45 Paramedics and EMT’s. The agency responds to approximately 6,000 calls each year. PCRRBEMS staff are the true frontline members of health care in the community.

WHAT YOU MUST KNOW

We answer 6000 CALLS PER YEAR, of which 4500 require a hospital visit. We are only able to bill if the patient is transported to the hospital. Therefore we are not remunerated for about 1500 calls

Since we are not a municipal agency, the MAJORITY OF OUR FUNDS DERIVE FROM BILLING THE PATIENT’S INSURANCE PROVIDER.

MANY OF OUR PATIENTS DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE.

Typically INSURANCE COMPANIES are very difficult to collect from and they NEVER PAY THE FULL COST.

PCRRBEMS staff are the true frontline
members of health care in the community.
